Product Description

 Stainless Steel Bracket Mount Bilge Water Level Switch Liquid Level Switch are a safety critcal component for the detection of liquid in dead spaces, voids and sumps that are rarely visited or inspected by the crew. They need to be able to withstand years of installation in difficult environmental conditons, yet operate immediately and reliably to indicate rising liquid level, a leakage or flooding hazard. The switch is corrosion resistant stainless steel fully submersible construction with a hermetcally sealed SPDT reed switch poted in epoxy. The switch is also designed with a manual lit test mechanism, which can be used to check switch operation.

The Bilge Switch is designed to be installed in ship's bilges and tanks, industrial sumps and tanks where it would be bolted at the required alarm level.

Application of Bilge Level Switch

The bilge level switch is specially designed for bilge tank of ships, vessels and offshore platforms.
It monitors the liquid level of accumulated sewage, rainwater and oily wastewater in the bilge compartment. When the liquid reaches the preset high‑level point, the switch outputs on‑off signal to automatically trigger the bilge pump for drainage. It can also give alarm signals to remind operators of excessive bilge water.
Widely applied in cargo ships, yachts, working boats and marine equipment. It adapts to humid, vibrating and corrosive marine working conditions, helping avoid water accumulation inside hull and guarantee navigation safety.
It can be installed inside bilge tanks, sump pits and waste‑water collecting compartments, supporting interlock control with bilge pumping system.

Installation Steps of Bilge Level Switch

  1. Select a proper mounting position in the bilge sump. Ensure the location can accurately reflect the actual liquid‑level height, avoid turbulent water flow and direct impact from bilge pump suction.
  2. Clean the mounting surface thoroughly, remove oil, sludge and rust to guarantee stable installation.
  3. Fix the level switch firmly. For top‑mount type, fasten flange or threaded connection; for side‑mount version, secure the bracket without deformation. Do not bend the float rod.
  4. Route the cable through waterproof cable gland. Tighten the gland to achieve water‑proof sealing, prevent moisture and seawater from entering the electrical housing.
  5. Complete wiring according to electrical schematic. Connect signal wires to bilge pump control panel or alarm system, keep wiring away from high‑temperature and sharp‑edge components.
  6. Check mechanical freedom: manually lift the float to confirm it moves up and down smoothly without jamming or collision with tank wall.
  7. Perform function test. Pour water to trigger the switch, verify it can activate bilge pump or send out alarm signal at set level point.
  8. Re‑check all fasteners and cable sealing before putting into official operation.
