Top Mounted Magnetic Float Level meter is mounted on top of the tank by a suitable process connection (preferably DN150 mm flange). A float designed for liquid to be gauges is guided within a stilling well that rest on the process flange. The float, connected to a stem that a magnet at the upper end moving in a chamber. The float along with the stem and magnet moves up and down with the changing in liquid levels in the vessel. On the dry side of the chamber is the Magnetic Follower Display assembly comprising of a Red & Black PP magnetic capsule housed in a glass tube filled with water. As the float tracks the liquid level the magnet inside the float magnetically couples the Red & Black PP capsule and the capsule will remain magnetically coupled and the level can be read off directly.

Application Scenarios of Top-mounted Magnetic Float Level meter

Top Mounted Magnetic Float Level meter is installed vertically on the top opening of sealed tanks, without side openings on the vessel wall. It relies on magnetic coupling to display liquid level, suitable for the following working conditions:

Vertical closed storage tanks without side flanges

For tanks whose side walls cannot open holes due to structural strength, anti-leakage or anti-corrosion requirements, such as underground storage tanks, vertical cylindrical chemical storage tanks, and vertical plastic lining tanks. Only one top mounting hole is needed for installation, which will not damage the side wall anti-corrosion layer.
High-viscosity, easy-to-crystallize and easy-to-scale media

Since the measuring float moves up and down from the top without side tube dead zones, it avoids medium accumulation and blockage in side connecting pipes. It is widely used for measuring crude oil, resin, syrup, chemical crystal liquid and other viscous materials.
High-pressure, flammable, toxic and highly corrosive dangerous media

The whole measuring system is fully sealed, with no leakage risk. It fits oil storage tanks, gasoline/diesel tanks, chemical reagent tanks containing acid and alkali, and toxic chemical containers. It can be matched with explosion-proof transmitters for flammable and explosive working environments.
High temperature working conditions

After selecting high-temperature resistant floats and magnetic components, it can be applied to hot water tanks, thermal oil storage tanks and high-temperature intermediate storage tanks in chemical plants.
Food, pharmaceutical and sanitary-grade containers

Sanitary top-mounted magnetic level gauges with polished stainless steel bodies are used in fermentation tanks, liquid medicine storage tanks, beverage mixing tanks and edible oil tanks. No side dead angles reduce medium residue, meeting cleaning and hygiene standards.
Small-diameter vertical tanks and reaction kettles

Small vertical buffer tanks, laboratory reaction kettles and small intermediate tanks with narrow tank bodies cannot install side-mounted level gauges. Top-mounted type saves installation space and achieves full-range level measurement.
Outdoor and buried tank monitoring

Buried fuel tanks, outdoor vertical water tanks and rainwater collecting tanks adopt top-mounted structure, which effectively reduces the risk of side wall corrosion and medium leakage caused by underground soaking or weather erosion.
Remote signal transmission matching

Equipped with magnetic reed transmitters, it can output 4-20mA standard signals to DCS control room, realizing remote real-time liquid level monitoring for unattended tank areas.
